The Most Beautiful And Fun Places To Visit In Lagos

When I started out this search to find the most beautiful place in Lagos I almost felt it was going to be an overly daunting task, where do we start from? From the far ends of Lagos Island to the bustling hustle on Lagos mainland lies very little natural and well-preserved beauty. But Alas, I realized that this place is Lagos’s biggest secret!

Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Club, popularly referred to as Lakowe Lakes Lekki, is located in Lakowe, which is just about 40km from the hustle and bustle of Lagos, is, in fact, the most beautiful place in Lagos. The 308-hectare community of beautiful lakes, lush palm groves, spa and hospitality resort, sports facilities, and an 18-hole championship golf course is one of the most magnificent sights you’d ever get in Lagos. The golf course was designed from natural swampland which is a major feature present on almost every hole.

The community was designed by a team of award-winning professionals, and is strategically located on the Lekki corridor, and bordered on the south by the Atlantic Ocean. Designed by PGA Professional and golf course architect, Robert O’Friel, Lakowe Lakes Golf course has an overall par rating of 72 and consists of two returning loops of 9 holes each – 2 par 5s, 2 par 3s, and 5 par 4s. The course measures 92 hectares and includes multiple tees, generously wide fairways, bunkers, and greens to suit all levels and skills of golfers.

Just before you think that this is every Nigerian golfer’s dream come true and not yours (that one person that doesn’t get the concept of golf) then the nature-inspired hospitality resort at Lakowe Lakes will definitely get you tripping. It consists of a Corporate Lodge Facility and a planned Spa Resort and seeks to promote wellness, relaxation, and recreation.

These facilities are targeted at corporate bodies seeking residential venues for conferences, staff retreats, training, and team building, leisure groups looking for weekend or holiday getaways, social parties, and special celebratory events.

Lakowe Lakes Lekki is about 35km from Victoria Island, approximately 10 minutes drive from Greensprings School in Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State. Located on Lekki Epe Expressway, after Ajah, Lakowe Lakes Estate can be accessed through a service road by the expressway. If you are only interested in playing golf or you want to become a full-time member, there is a range of membership grades that you can purchase from.

One of the reviews that stood out for us was this one from a google local guide: “In my honest opinion, Lakowe Lakes is more than a Golf Course and I’m glad to have extensively had the rare opportunity exploring such a serene, tranquil atmosphere that this facility has to offer. It is apt for both corporate and private retreats as there are world-class chalets and meeting rooms.

Big kudos to the management of this place for paying so much attention to details in ensuring top-notch maintenance. Nature lovers will definitely enjoy a lot here given the lush greenery, lakes, and birds that are abundantly available here. I can’t wait to be back here again and again”
Besides, what could be more beautiful than nature itself? Also, kindly note that Lagos State is one of the Safest State to Live in Nigeria.
